Humble Beginnings:
Tony Chan immigrated to Miami, FL from Guangzhou, China in 1987. At 16 years of age,
he left his friends, family, and education to work as a cook at Chang’s. Throughout the
years, he learned to prepare flavorful savory dishes and became the head chef of the
restaurant. He became very good friends with many customers and learned to speak English
and Spanish through them too.
Tony and Jenny (Tony’s wife) took ownership of Chang’s in 2004. They managed all of the
operations of the restaurant and transformed it into an Authentic Cantonese experience.
Over 60 new dishes were introduced – traditional foods from their hometown in Guangzhou,
China. This shift attracted many more customers as we became the main restaurant serving
authentic Chinese food in the area.
Chang’s is able to serve such delicious and appetizing meals because we prioritize the
quality of our ingredients: we have live seafood shipped weekly from New York, make
sauces and spices in house, and always use fresh meats and vegetables.
Moving Forward:
Chang’s has been at our original location for 40 years, and it’s about time we move to
a newer location! We closed on January 1, 2019 to move to this new address: 1311 SW 107 AVE, Miami, FL 33174. We reopened in
March 13, 2019 - this time, as 100% owned by our immediate family. We are so excited
to serve our customers better with a newly renovated interior and more parking spaces.
Despite the change, we will continue to serve the same delightful dishes our customers
love. It marks the start of a new beginning for us and our customers.
We welcome you to our family and invite you to try foods from our hometown in China
